Sagada hotel and lodging guide

Sagada's Residential Inn comes in baby blue

Sagada's Residential Inn comes in baby blue

Sagada is a small rural town which has not really been touched yet by mainstream tourism. While this benefits most visitors by keeping the town relatively authentic, hospitality options here are never going to scale the dizzying heights of the big cities.

Most hotels in Sagada come in the form of basic guesthouses that offer a selection of dorm beds and some private rooms as well. Luxuries like en suite bathrooms and WiFi internet are slowly becoming more prevailent, but are hardly the norm here. There are opportunities to get private cottages, however, which offer a little more charm for your money.

The main street of the town has the most Sagada guesthouses and this is a decent location to be in for access to the different restaurants, cafes and tourist sights. However, staying a little farther afield has its own benefits, with unobstructed mountain views plus plenty of peace and quiet.

Most Sagada hotels can be booked in advance and it makes sense to call ahead if arriving late in the day. Remember that a 21:00 curfew still exists here (despite not being strictly enforced) so if arriving after dark it is good to have someone expecting you or you may find everywhere boarded up for the night.
